Spanish Course for Professionals. Level A1
Spanish for Professionals (Level A1): "Foundations of Corporate Spanish" is a twelve-lesson linguistic training program specifically designed for individuals who need to operate effectively in international business environments and achieve a basic user level (A1) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The academic program is progressively structured into four major competency areas: Initial Job Placement and Workplace Environment, Time Management and Daily Communication, Interaction and Commercial Relations, and Customer Support, Analysis, and Professional Projection. Each pedagogical unit follows a symmetrical model that guides the student from passive comprehension (through practical case studies on management and productivity) to structured production and drafting internal correspondence.
The manual is prepared for both collective classroom dynamics and independent study, featuring an integrated answer key, a multilingual glossary of verbs, and complementary digital online resources.
To the Students
Welcome to the A1 Spanish Course for Professionals, “Foundations of Corporate Spanish” —a course designed for anyone who needs to operate effectively in international business environments.
This course will help you improve your Spanish to reach the A1 level (breakthrough/beginner) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). By reaching this level, you will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of concrete, immediate needs. You will learn to introduce yourself and others, ask and answer questions about basic personal details, talk about your skills and experience, organize appointments and meetings, write simple emails, answer phone calls, give a brief professional presentation, and more. Additionally, you will be able to interact in a basic way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
Furthermore, the course is designed both for classroom use—where you can role-play dialogues in pairs or groups, discuss topics, and debate answers to reading comprehension questions—and for individual, independent study, featuring exercises, vocabulary games, and grammatical explanations.
I wish you all the best on your path toward your professional goals, and I hope you find this book useful and enriching.
Sincerely,
Rafael Roca González
